Who We Are
Established in 1894, Student Agencies, Inc. (SAI) is the oldest independent student-run company in the nation. We are comprised of a growing group of businesses: Big Red Shipping & Storage, Hired Hands Moving Company, the Cornellian Yearbook, Campus Promotions, SAI Properties, and Student Agencies Tutoring. Our businesses generate over $2.5MM in annual revenues and pay out close to $500K in wages, bonuses, and profit sharing to our undergraduate managers and employees. With over 300 undergraduates involved in SAI, we are the second largest employer of students in the Ithaca area after Cornell.
Mission
SAI’s mission is to provide Cornell undergraduates with the extraordinary opportunity to:
- Gain practical experience starting and running businesses
- Earn a substantial portion of the cost of a Cornell education
- Provide valuable products and services to the Cornell and Greater Tompkins County Community
Student Agencies Properties
Student Agencies funds its mission through the rent accumulated from The Student Agencies Building. The SAP division is run by Student Agencies Real Estate, one of the six agencies supported and led by Student Agencies managers, that are Cornell University Students.
